Dust Cloud Rising Over Zarqa Quarry Site
Late afternoon sun cuts through heavy air above a quarried excavation near Zarqa, where a dense plume of grey dust explodes upward between steel gantries. Hard coastal glare flattens the texture of the exposed rock face, turning jagged stone into a monolithic wall of beige and ochre. The rising cloud forms a perfect cylinder, suspended in sharp shafts of light that illuminate fine particles drifting sideways. Overhead, utility towers stretch across the frame in symmetrical lines, their dark metal silhouettes stark against the bright sky. The ground below is a chaotic mix of loose gravel and compacted earth, leading the eye directly to the center of the explosion. One beam of light hits the edge of the dust cloud, outlining the turbulence with a glowing white rim.
