Monsoon Light in La Guaira Train Terminal Courtyard
Soft, overcast light falls through the heavy gray clouds above the inner courtyard of a restored train terminal in La Guaira. The space is defined by a massive coffered concrete ceiling that creates a rhythmic grid of deep shadows across the worn stone floor. Puddles reflect the pale sky, their surfaces rippled by the recent monsoon rain. Weathered metal railings line the upper walkways, showing patches of rust against the cool gray tones of the concrete. Geometric lines from the ceiling coffers and floor tiles draw toward the distant, rain-swept archway. one drop of water hangs from the edge of a concrete beam, trembling before falling into a shallow pool below.
