Malayan Tapir Drinking at Jungle Pool

Soft overcast light diffuses across a wide panoramic view of a jungle pool where a Malayan tapir stands waist-deep in the water. The animal's distinctive black-and-white coat contrasts sharply against the muted greens of the surrounding foliage. Light fog rests on the surface of the pool, blurring the distant tree line and softening the edges of the wet rocks. The tapir lowers its snout to the water, ripples spreading outward from its muzzle. Dry earth banks frame the pool, indicating the dry season, while the heavy canopy overhead filters the midday light into a gentle, even glow. One reflection of a frond rests on the water's surface near the tapir's flank.
