Silhouetted Ocelot in Wyoming Cloud Forest Branch

A jagged branch stretches horizontally across the frame, supporting a spotted wild cat frozen in profile. The animal is a dark silhouette against the bright, washed-out sky filtering through the canopy. Sunlight breaks through the leaves, creating sharp patches of white and gray on the wet bark. The fur pattern is visible only as a series of lighter spots along the flank where the light catches the edge. Raindrops rest on the surrounding foliage, making the leaves appear dark and heavy. The ground below is a blur of brown and green undergrowth. The cat's tail curls tightly around the limb, anchoring its stillness against the bright background. One droplet slides down a leaf tip in the lower right corner.
