Malayan Tapir at Ho Chi Minh City Pool

Cool blue twilight washes over a shallow tidal inlet beside District 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, where a Malayan tapir stands waist-deep in the water. Mist clings low to the surface, softening the edges of the dark, rippling pool against the distant, dim city skyline. The tapir's distinctive black and white coat contrasts sharply with the deep indigo hues of the evening. Fine droplets rest on the animal's snout and glisten in the fading light. A wooden railing in the foreground anchors the view, separating the urban edge from this rare wildlife encounter.
