Hokkaido Sea Cliff Silhouetted by Sunrise Light

Pale morning light spills over the jagged edge of a Hokkaido sea cliff, catching faint traces of fresh snow that rest on the dark rock. The horizon glows with a soft, cool white where the first rays of sunrise break through low-hanging clouds. The cliff face stands in deep silhouette, its rough texture defined only by the thin rim of light along the top. Below, the ocean merges with the mist, losing all definition in a wash of gray and blue. Patches of snow on the precipice glow with a faint pink tint, contrasting against the shadowed stone. One feather of cloud drifts past the highest peak, marking the stillness of the arctic summer air.
