Warm firelight glows across weathered wooden gates of a canal lock, standing low against the rising floodwater along a Sydney levee path. The perspective sits near the ground, showing the massive timber beams and rusted iron hinges that anchor the structure. Low-hanging clouds diffuse the late afternoon sun, casting long, soft shadows across the damp concrete embankment. Early spring moisture rests on the wood grain, darkening the surface to a deep amber tone.
