Golden Hour Cable Splice Chamber in Dry Season Gulu in beneath transmission towers near Gulu

Golden Hour Cable Splice Chamber in Dry Season Gulu

by Terrence Clarke

Fluorescent white light floods the interior of a concrete service tunnel cable splice chamber beneath transmission towers near Gulu. Raindrops streak the corrugated metal surfaces and drip from the ceiling into shallow puddles on the gravel floor. The symmetrical arrangement of thick black cables converges toward the central splice point, creating a rigid geometric path through the damp space. Outside the open tunnel mouth, the dry season earth glows with warm amber tones as the sun dips low. Water beads on the rough concrete walls, reflecting the artificial glow against the fading natural light. One droplet hangs from a metal bracket before falling into the dark water below.
