Frost Covered Sluice Gate Wheel Burgundy Dawn

Rim light cuts a thin silver edge along the rusted iron spokes of a massive sluice gate wheel, standing frozen in the deep shadow of a canal lock chamber. Thick white frost coats every crevice of the metal, crystallizing against the dark, damp stone walls of the Burgundian structure. A pale, cool fog drifts through the scene, softening the distant vanishing point where the lock walls converge. Fallen orange and brown oak leaves rest on the wet cobblestones at the base of the gate, against the grey morning light. The heavy iron wheel dominates the foreground, its circular form drawing the eye along the receding lines of the canal into the misty distance. One icicle hangs from the lowest spoke, catching the faint glow of the rising sun.
