Soft overcast light washes the industrial fence in a cool, pre-dawn gray. Tiny droplets of dew cling in perfect spheres to the vertical steel bars, catching the faint ambient glow. Behind the chain-link mesh, warning placards display bold yellow triangles and black text against a rusted metal background. The structure stands heavy and imposing near the concrete walls of a canal lock chamber. A thin layer of light fog softens the distant edges of the lock mechanism. The wet surface of the fence reflects the pale sky, while the texture of the rusted warning signs contrasts with the smooth, cold metal of the posts. One droplet rolls slowly down a diagonal wire.
