A heavy iron sluice gate handle dominates the foreground, its surface darkened by decades of peeling paint and a fresh coat of winter rain. Bare, brittle twigs from a nearby hedge press against the rusted bolts, their edges sharp against the soft blur of the lock chamber walls.
