Fossil Trackway Cast Near Tidal Survey Casablanca

Clean, cool laboratory light illuminates a concrete cast of a fossil trackway propped upright against stacked sandbags. The gray surface of the cast displays deep, rhythmic indentations where ancient feet pressed into mud. Outside the open flap of the field station tent, a light drizzle blurs the background of a tidal survey transect near Casablanca. Wet sand glistens under the late morning sky, reflecting the overcast gray. Converging lines of the transect markers draw toward a vanishing point in the distance. The texture of the rough sandbags contrasts with the smooth, hard edges of the fossil replica, while water droplets bead on the cast's surface.
