Fossil Jacket Drying in Wet Season Night Light

Beige burlap sacks and white plaster buckets cluster on the damp earth beside a heavy canvas fossil jacket. A sharp beam of lighthouse light sweeps across the field station, cutting through the humid wet season air. The beam highlights the rough texture of the drying canvas against the dark, shadowed ground. Dramatic, heavy clouds loom above, their gray undersides illuminated by the artificial glow. Water droplets rest on the fabric edges, glistening in the sudden illumination. The buckets sit slightly tilted, their surfaces reflecting the stark white light that cuts through the surrounding darkness. A faint shadow stretches from the jacket toward the nearest bucket.
