Fossil Trackway Cast in Field Tent Christchurch

Clean laboratory light floods the interior of a beige field station tent, illuminating a large fossil trackway cast propped upright against a stack of sandbags. The cast displays deep, textured ridges of ancient footprints in pale gray plaster, against the coarse, beige grain of the sandbags. Outside the open flap, the flat glare of noon sun bounces off the surrounding sand, while salt wind ripples the thin fabric walls. Early spring light hits the scene with a hard, shadowless intensity, showing the precise analytical calm of the setup. Negative space fills the area around the subject, highlighting the solitary scientific object against the temporary shelter. A faint shadow falls across the base of the cast where it meets the sandbag corner.
