Fireflies Over Alpine Pond Before Dawn

Bioluminescent dots drift just above tall reeds lining the edge of a warm pond in an alpine saddle of Borneo. Low-hanging clouds obscure the sky, leaving only scattered starlight to illuminate the dark water. The reeds stand in sharp relief against the mist, their green stalks catching faint glimmers of the insects' glow. A dark branch frames the left side of the view, creating a natural border around the still water. Tiny sparks of light hover in the cool air, moving slowly without wind. The water reflects the starlight and the soft green of the reeds. A cluster of fireflies clusters near the water's surface, their light fading into the shadow of the branch.
