Egyptian Papyrus Capitals in Winter Punjab Forest
Silvery winter light falls through the canopy, illuminating a column of Egyptian papyrus capitals resting on a fern-lined forest floor in Punjab. The stone capitals, carved with the characteristic clustered stems and spreading umbels of the papyrus plant, stand in a strict vertical arrangement against the dark, leafy undergrowth. Frost dusts the tips of the surrounding ferns, creating a sharp contrast with the pale, weathered limestone of the capitals. Heat haze shimmers above the ground, distorting the lower edges of the stone and blurring the boundary between the solid masonry and the organic forest floor. The composition remains minimalist, isolating the architectural forms within the dense, shadowed vegetation. one drop of melting ice rests on the rim of the lowest capital, catching the dim light before falling onto a bed of dry, brown leaves.
