Midnight Neon Reflections in Sargodha Chapel in along a monastery corridor in Sargodha

Midnight Neon Reflections in Sargodha Chapel

by Nancy Gonzales

Polished stone floors stretch symmetrically beneath a forsaken chapel corridor, mirroring harsh electric blue and violet neon hues from unseen sources. A collapsed bell tower frames the far end, its broken masonry casting jagged shadows against the archway. Dust motes hang suspended in the midsummer air, illuminated by the stark artificial glow. The walls, stripped of religious iconography, display rough plaster textures and deep cracks where light fails to reach. Small highlights dance across the wet-looking floor tiles, creating a geometric pattern that leads toward the ruin. One shard of glass rests near the base of the crumbling pillar, catching the neon light with a sharp, cold gleam.
