Cuttlefish Hunt on Reef at Predawn

A pale cuttlefish hovers inches above a textured coral wall, its skin rippling with subtle chromatophore shifts as it tracks a translucent shrimp. A sweeping beam of artificial light cuts through the predawn darkness, illuminating the marine predator and its prey against a backdrop of deep indigo water. Plankton haze softens the distant reef structures, creating a layered sense of depth. The light source casts sharp highlights on the cuttlefish's mantle while leaving the surrounding coral in shadow. Fine sand grains drift in the current, catching the beam. The shrimp's delicate legs twitch near the coral crevice, frozen in the moment before the strike. The light edge defines the boundary between the illuminated hunting ground and the dark ocean beyond.
