Copper River Delta Branching into Sea Near Cape Town

by Riley Nunez

From a direct overhead perspective, branching river channels cut through a wet landscape near Cape Town, weaving toward the dark ocean edge. The water reflects a deep copper glow from the pre-dusk sky, against the muted greens and browns of early winter vegetation along the banks. Fine rain creates a textured, shimmering surface across the entire delta, turning the waterways into a network of liquid veins. The wet ground absorbs the light, darkening the soil between the meandering streams. At the far right edge, the river mouth meets the sea, where the water shifts from copper to slate gray, marking the boundary between fresh and salt water.
