Brackish water spreads across a complex network of channels, carving a branching pattern into the muddy estuary before meeting the ocean. The water shifts from opaque tan sediment to deep teal where it touches the surf. Scalloped waves line the coastline, creating a textured white foam edge against the darker sand. Autumn foliage borders the banks in patches of burnt orange and rust red, contrasting sharply with the remaining green trees. The flat noon sun eliminates long shadows, revealing every ripple and sandbar with clinical clarity. A perfectly clear blue sky stretches endlessly above, framing the topographic spread of the delta without interruption. The final channel narrows as it merges with the rhythmic surf.
