Concrete Levee Road Near River Mouth in Winter

Gray concrete stretches across the frame, defining the edge of a service road beside a churning river mouth. The surface glistens with wet spray and fine mist that hangs low above the pavement. Dark, heavy water rushes beneath the embankment, its motion blurred by the force of the current. Low, flat light cuts across the wet stones, revealing the rough texture of the concrete and the sharp lines of the spillway. No snow covers the ground, but the absence of greenery and the heavy, suspended water vapor confirm the polar night season. The road leads toward the horizon where the sky meets the dark water. One droplet rests on the edge of a concrete barrier, reflecting the dull gray light.
