Collapsed Fire Escape Behind Metro Entrance Victoria

Rusted iron rungs dangle precariously from a crumbling brick wall, hanging above a wet alleyway behind a metro entrance in Victoria. The late afternoon rain has left the pavement slick and dark, reflecting the grey sky. Heat shimmer rises from the damp ground, distorting the air just above the stones. Moss rests on the damp masonry, softening the sharp edges of the decay. Behind the twisted metal structure, the shadowed mouth of the station entrance yawns open, framed by peeling paint and weathered concrete. One puddle near the base mirrors the jagged silhouette of the broken railing against the fading light.
