Cirrus Uncinus Over Takayama Thunderheads Sunset

Deep azure stretches above a horizon piled with towering cumulonimbus clouds near Takayama. A delicate hook of cirrus uncinus streaks across the upper third, catching the last warm rays of sunset. The storm clouds below glow with soft orange and pink edges where the sun wraps the scene, while their bases remain heavy and dark gray. Humid air hangs visibly in the space between the high hook and the lower masses, blurring distant ridges slightly. The contrast between the fragile white filament and the massive, brooding thunderheads creates a bold visual tension. Shadows deepen in the valleys below the cloud deck, at the base of the immense scale of the weather system against the fading light.
