Blue Morpho Butterfly Mid Flight Over Water

Iridescent blue wings flash against a heavy grey sky while a blue morpho butterfly hovers low over a rippling water surface near Kunduz. The overcast winter light reflects off the water, creating a shimmering path of pale silver that contrasts with the deep azure of the insect's wings. Bare, skeletal branches frame the upper corners, stripped of leaves by the dead of winter. The butterfly's body is angled sharply forward, legs tucked tight, capturing a moment of suspended motion. Below, the water surface breaks into small, sharp ripples that catch the diffuse light. One dark shadow stretches across the water beneath the insect, grounding its flight in the cold, still air.
