Deep indigo twilight pools along the wet concrete walls of a canal lock chamber near Huinnyeoul, Busan. Steel gates stand vertical and imposing, their dark surfaces reflecting the cool ambient light. Black water rises steadily against the metal barriers, creating a sharp horizontal line that cuts through the frame. Above, a wet footbridge spans the width, its railings glistening with moisture under the glow of utility lights. Converging lines of the concrete channel draw toward a distant vanishing point. The air appears thick and vibrating near the transformers and cables mounted on the walls. Every surface shows the texture of rain-slicked stone and the smooth, cold finish of industrial steel.
