Rust-streaked steel dominates the frame as a massive lock gate hinge anchors a canal chamber near Nanchang. Rain lashes against the weathered metal, turning the surface into a slick, dark mirror that reflects the cooling twilight sky. Signal lamps mounted on the gatehouse cast pools of amber and red light, cutting through the gray mist and whipping rain. Water churns violently in the narrow channel below, its white foam crashing against the concrete embankment. The low angle emphasizes the sheer weight of the ironwork, showing bolts as thick as fists and rust bleeding into the crevices. Wind whips loose debris across the wet concrete floor, while the heavy steel beams stand firm against the force of the monsoon.
