Vibrating air shimmers around heavy transformers and thick cables suspended beneath a massive steel and concrete viaduct. A boxy counterweight house sits directly over a black tidal channel, its industrial form stark against the deepening twilight. Distant town lights glow on the horizon, casting a faint orange wash that reflects weakly on the dark water below. The midsummer sky holds a heavy blue tone, showing the structural monumentality of the overhead framework. Thick concrete pillars rise from the water, supporting the steel trusses that span the channel. Cables hang in tight arcs, their metallic surfaces catching the last ambient light before the night fully settles.
