Qena Drawbridge Rising Over Tidal Channel

Steel girders of the drawbridge ascend in a heavy, mechanical arc against the deepening twilight of late spring. Below, the dark tidal channel reflects the first warm points of city lights beginning to glow from the distant shore. The structure rests on a viaduct of rough concrete and riveted steel, its massive counterweights rising into the cooling air. Orange signal lamps flicker to life on the bridge's support towers, casting small pools of amber on the wet metal surfaces. Thick cables stretch taut between the lifting span and the stationary towers, vibrating slightly as the machinery hums. The scene balances the weight of industrial engineering with the quiet transition from day to night, anchored by the sharp geometric lines of the bridge meeting the fluid darkness of the water.
