Aerial Volcanic Beach Near Quito in Autumn Light

Midday tropical light floods a crescent-shaped volcanic beach, rendering the landscape with sharp, cartographic clarity. Jet-black sand curves along the shoreline, meeting turquoise water where wind whips the surface into fine, white ripples. Behind the beach, terraced hillsides rise in layered bands of ochre and dried autumn grass. Distinct agricultural steps carve into the steep slopes, fading into the hazy distance as the terrain deepens. Sharp shadows define the edges of each terrace, highlighting the rugged topography. The contrast between the dark volcanic rock and the bright, dry vegetation creates a high-contrast palette. At the very edge of the frame, white foam breaks against the black sand.
