Surfer Carries Longboard Across Black Volcanic Sand

The wind whips through their wetsuit and hair, pulling the fabric taut against their frame. Behind them, layered foothills rise in soft, muted tones of green and brown, hinting at the rugged terrain of early autumn in Ecuador. The sand shifts slightly under their boots, kicking up tiny clouds of dark dust that hang momentarily in the air before settling. The horizon line cuts cleanly across the frame, separating the warm, golden sky from the cool, shadowed earth below. One wave crest glints faintly in the distance, catching the last rays of the sun.
