Rusting Ship on Tidal Flat Near Izmit

Orange rust streaks run vertically down the corrugated steel hull of a beached vessel resting on wet, dark mudflats. The ship sits angled sharply against the ground, its bow pointing toward a distant, hazy horizon where the first light of morning breaks through a thick layer of clouds. Low sun strikes the atmospheric haze, casting a pale golden glow that contrasts with the deep ochre of the corroded metal. Diagonal lines formed by the ship's tilted deck and the receding shoreline create clear tension across the frame. Late summer vegetation rests on the edges of the tidal flat, muted by the morning moisture. The sky above is heavy with dramatic cloud formations that obscure the sun while illuminating the scene's edges. One rusted porthole near the waterline reflects the pale sky, anchoring the composition.
