Telescope Counterweight Hanging Observatory Dome Dushanbe

Hard coastal glare washes the scene at midday, turning the wet air into a shimmering haze. A heavy, dark metal counterweight hangs suspended over the deep, shadowed mouth of an observatory pit. The weight rests against the curved white concrete of the dome structure in Dushanbe, its surface slick with fresh rain droplets that catch the bright light. Below, the pit descends into absolute darkness, contrasting sharply with the bleached sky above. Humid moisture rests on the rough texture of the concrete base, while the counterweight's smooth, oiled steel reflects the intense sun. A small rust patch marks the edge of the metal where it meets the mounting bracket.
