Wooden Dhow Construction Winter Harbor Night
Fog rolls thick over the dark water, swallowing the harbor mouth while a wooden dhow takes shape on the wet sand. The vessel's hull rises in rough planks, still raw and unpainted, illuminated by a rhythmic sweep of white light from a distant lighthouse. Heavy winter clouds stack low and gray above the construction site. Wooden beams and tools lie scattered across the damp ground near the boat's frame. The sweeping beam cuts through the mist, highlighting the grain of the timber and the texture of the wet sand. Converging lines of the dock and the boat's ribs draw toward the dark, churning water in the distance. One beam of light rests on the curved stern.
