Boat Builder Steaming Ribs in Vantaa Hall

Bright midmorning light floods the ceremonial hall in Vantaa, illuminating a boat builder working with wooden hull ribs. Steam rises heavily from a heating vessel, curling through the air as the craftsman bends a heated rib into place. The room features high ceilings and polished stone floors, against the organic grain of the timber. Outside the tall windows, a light drizzle blurs the winter landscape, while the interior remains warm and humid. The builder wears heavy winter clothing, their hands moving with deliberate care over the glowing wood. one drop of condensation slides down the side of the metal steamer, catching the light.
