Boat Painting Shed on Lanzhou Causeway

Deep shadow swallows the boat painting shed where wooden hulls rest on timber cradles along the wind-open causeway. Late spring light cuts a sharp rim around the curved frames, separating them from the dark interior. Sea spray hangs in the air, catching the fading glow and turning the space into a misty tunnel. The cradles align in a rigid row, creating strong leading lines that guide the view toward the horizon. Rough wood grain contrasts with the smooth, wet curves of the vessels. A final beam of light glints off a single droplet clinging to the edge of a hull, marking the boundary between the shelter and the wild, untamed water beyond.
