Woodblock Print Ocean Doorway Prayer Hall

Warm workshop lamps illuminate a woodblock print resting on an atelier board, revealing coarse fibers and vibrant pigment textures. The print occupies the lower right third of the view. Behind it, a prayer hall wall in Uyo stands solid and still under bright midmorning light. A rectangular doorway cut into the stone wall opens directly onto a churning, gray ocean where a wall should be. Cool season drizzle beads on the wooden frame, merging with the impossible sea spray outside. The water level rises to the stone threshold, blurring the line between indoor ritual space and open water. one drop of water slides down the print's edge.
