Winter Irrigation Water Flows Through Kyushu Furrows

Low morning sunlight cuts across a harvested grain field in Kyushu, illuminating a thin layer of mist clinging to the dark earth. Water threads through narrow furrows, reflecting the pale sky as it moves toward the foreground. The ground is bare, showing the rough texture of turned soil and stubble. A stiff wind ripples the surface of the water and bends the dry stalks standing in the distance. The light creates long, sharp shadows that stretch across the rows. At the edge of the frame, a small clod of wet soil sits beside a glistening stream, marking the boundary between the dry field and the flowing water.
