Windmill Sails Turning Over Winter Plaza

Wet cobblestones reflect the flat noon sky across a formal civic plaza in Fukuoka. A traditional windmill stands at the center, its wooden sails rotating slowly in the breeze. Fine rain creates a misty veil over the scene, darkening the stone surfaces and giving the wood a deep, saturated grain. Converging lines of the plaza pavement lead toward the vanishing point behind the structure. Bare branches of nearby trees hang low against the grey sky, devoid of leaves. Water droplets rest on the metal edges of the mill, catching the soft light. The texture of the wet ground contrasts with the smooth, dark wood of the turning blades.
