Golden corn stalks shiver at the edge of a tea plantation near Cairo just after sunrise. Deep shadows cover the foreground while a sharp rim light outlines the swaying plants against a darkening sky. The earth below appears darkened and heavy with moisture, featuring puddled ruts that reflect the gloom of the approaching storm. Rows of crops create leading lines drawing toward the horizon where tea bushes stand in contrast to the turbulent corn. The air holds a stillness broken only by the movement of the dry stalks. A small puddle in a rut catches a fragment of the gray sky, mirroring the heavy clouds above.
