Black Wet Plowed Field Kenya Hay Bales
by Katrina Lugo
Dark, wet furrows stretch across the foreground, their black surfaces gleaming under bright midmorning light. The soil appears freshly turned, glistening with moisture that reflects the break in the cloud cover above. To the right, tall stacks of golden hay bales rise vertically, creating a textured wall of dried grass against the dark earth. A thin layer of light fog hovers low over the ground, softening the transition between the field and the distant horizon. The sky shows patches of deep blue breaking through heavy gray clouds, casting sharp shadows across the uneven terrain. The hay bales are bound with twine, their rough fibers catching the dry mountain air. At the edge of the frame, a single furrow ends abruptly against the shadow of the nearest bale, marking the boundary between the cultivated earth and the stored harvest.
