Winter Wheat Field Shadow Dawn Sardinia

Misty gray light washes over freshly irrigated rows of wheat in Sardinia during the dead of winter. The crop stands low and dense, its stalks dark against the pale, diffused sky. A massive, soft shadow from a passing cloud slices diagonally across the field, creating a stark division between the illuminated golden-green tips and the deep, cool tones beneath. Water glistens in the furrows between the rows, reflecting the soft dawn glow like scattered silver coins. The horizon blurs into a white haze where the earth meets the sky. Along the bottom edge, the wet soil appears dark and heavy, anchoring the swaying stalks in place.
