Tombolo Island Floodplain Tijuana Winter

Soft overcast light bathes a dry floodplain near Tijuana in early winter, where a narrow sandbar connects a rocky island to the mainland. Low dust hangs suspended in the air, creating a hazy veil above the cracked earth. The terrain stretches flat and wide, punctuated by sparse scrub brush and scattered stones. The island rises slightly, its surface rough and textured against the smoother sediment of the connecting strip. Shadows are soft and diffuse, lacking sharp edges due to the cloud cover. The horizon line sits low, showing the vastness of the flat expanse. A small cluster of dry grasses bends near the water's edge, their pale stems against the gray-brown soil.
