Morning Shadows Over Tijuana Skyscrapers in above dune fields and dry wadis near Tijuana

Morning Shadows Over Tijuana Skyscrapers

by George Nicholson

Pale winter light spills across a vast expanse of dune fields and dry wadis near Tijuana. Towering glass skyscrapers rise from the arid landscape, their rectangular forms casting long, sharp shadows that stretch eastward across the sand. A thin layer of morning fog softens the horizon, blurring the boundary between the built environment and the desert floor. The sun's first rays hit the upper facades, creating bright highlights against the cool gray tones of the concrete and steel. Below, the undulating dunes create a textured contrast to the rigid geometry of the city. The scene remains still, with no movement visible in the wind-swept sand or the silent structures. The edge of a shadow cuts precisely across a ridge of dry vegetation.
