Surreal Hot Spring Corridor With Doors in across a floodplain after rain near Nampo

Surreal Hot Spring Corridor With Doors

by Derek Villa

Mineral deposits crust the steaming edges of a hot spring flowing across a rain-washed floodplain near Nampo. Identical wooden doors line both sides of the water, creating an impossible corridor where rooms should exist. The late afternoon sun casts long, sharp shadows from the door frames onto the wet, terraced stone. Steam rises in white plumes, catching the bright open daylight and highlighting the rust-colored and white mineral layers. The water reflects the clear sky and the repetitive door patterns, blurring the boundary between liquid and solid structure. One droplet slides down a weathered door handle, resting on the mossy stone ledge below.
