Surfer on Volcanic Sand Ridge Swiss Foothills

Low-hanging gray clouds press against the sky above layered foothills in Switzerland. A lone figure carries a longboard across black volcanic sand on a ridge, moving toward the horizon. The golden hour light casts long, sharp shadows that stretch across the dark, coarse grains. Early winter chill is evident in the surfer's thick wool coat and the bare, brown grass tufts poking through the ash. The board's smooth, pale surface contrasts with the rough, obsidian ground. Behind the ridge, soft blue and purple layers of distant mountains fade into the mist. The final shadow of the surfer falls across a patch of dry, brittle stalks.
