The low angle emphasizes the engineered force of the structure, where cracked surfaces catch the fading sun. Heat shimmer rises from the sun-struck ground, distorting the edges of the dry riverbed below. Early winter air leaves the surrounding hills bare and gray, against the orange glow hitting the masonry. Water in the spillway channel reflects the sky, creating a shimmering path beneath the heavy stone. A jagged shadow falls across the base of the nearest pillar, marking the exact moment the sun dips below the horizon line.
