Sunlight Through Holes in Cornish Hammam Ruin

by Duane Simon

Warm orange light from the horizon wraps the interior of a roofless stone structure in Cornwall. Shafts of sunlight pierce through gaps in the remaining masonry, illuminating floating dust and wet surfaces. Rain streaks the crumbling walls, while moss rests on the damp floor beside puddles reflecting the sky. A natural archway frames the view, highlighting the contrast between the decaying architecture and the monsoon storm overhead. Water drips from the stone edge, creating small ripples in the standing water. The texture of the wet stone shows every crack and erosion mark clearly.
