Storm Drain Filter Stack Morning Light Thu Thiem

by Paul Bright

Galvanized steel chains hang loosely from a weathered timber beam, anchoring a vertical stack of rust-stained metal filters against a scaffolded concrete facade. Low morning sun cuts through the rainy season fog, casting long, sharp shadows across wet pavement slick with mud and tire spray. Vibrant red and blue graffiti marks the base of the steel inlet, against the dull gray of the construction site. The horizon glows with a pale haze, illuminating dust particles suspended in the cool air. One bolt on the filter housing catches the light, reflecting the pale sky above the muddy ground.
