Sydney Storm Drain Swallowing Maple Leaves

Deep shadow engulfs a concrete storm drain grate as heavy rain falls across the pavement. Steel bars trap a cluster of fresh green maple leaves, their veins visible under the flat gray light. Above, the massive lattice legs of transmission towers rise into the bruised blue sky, their silhouette sharp against the fading evening. Water sheets off the metal and stone, creating a slick, reflective surface that mirrors the dark infrastructure. The scene stands in the last blue light of evening, where the wet ground glistens under the dim ambient glow. One droplet rests on the edge of a rusted bolt on the grate.
