Srinagar Scientist Measuring Giant Mushroom Lichen Plots

Granite slabs in Srinagar glisten under a dry season sky streaked with light drizzle. A scientist stands at the center of converging stone lines, holding a ruler card against a cluster of ordinary lichen patches. Beside these small growths, impossible mushrooms rise like closed umbrellas, their caps wide enough to shelter a hand. The granite surface reflects the soft skylight, creating gentle contrast between the wet stone and the dry caps of the fungi. Water droplets bead on the mushroom stems, mirroring the drizzle falling from above. The scientist's focused posture aligns with the ruler's grid, marking the scale between the tiny lichen and the colossal fungal structures. A reflection of the umbrella mushroom stretches across the wet granite near the ruler's edge.
